1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Smart Pickup application and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. Smart Pickup is an intelligent traffic management and compliance system designed for school pickup coordination.
2. Description of Service
Smart Pickup provides a school pickup management platform that includes:
- Pickup time assignment based on distance and grade
- Real-time GPS tracking during active pickup journeys
- QR code-based identity verification at pickup points
- Lane assignment and traffic flow management
- Authorized person management for delegated pickups
- Carpooling coordination between families
- School administration dashboard and reporting
3. Account Registration
Parent accounts are created by school administrators through the CSV import process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify the school immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. User Responsibilities
As a user of Smart Pickup, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information for your profile and authorized persons
- Use the app only for its intended purpose of school pickup coordination
- Not share your QR code or login credentials with unauthorized individuals
- Follow school pickup policies and procedures
- Keep your app updated to the latest version for security
- Not attempt to manipulate or interfere with the pickup queue system
5. Authorized Persons
Primary guardians are responsible for managing authorized pickup persons. By adding an authorized person, you confirm that:
- The person is known to you and trusted to pick up your children
- The information provided (name, photo, relationship) is accurate
- You will promptly remove authorization when it is no longer appropriate
6. Carpooling
The carpooling feature allows families to coordinate shared pickups. By using carpooling:
- You acknowledge that carpool arrangements are between families
- The accepting parent takes responsibility for picking up all children in the carpool
- Smart Pickup facilitates the coordination but is not liable for carpool arrangements
- Each family maintains their own assigned pickup time slot
7. Location Tracking
Smart Pickup uses GPS tracking during active pickup journeys. By using the tracking feature, you consent to your location being shared with the school and relevant parties (your children's student app, carpool families) during the journey. Tracking is only active between "Start Journey" and "Pickup Complete."
8. School Administration
Schools using Smart Pickup are responsible for:
- Accurate import of family and student data
- Proper configuration of pickup time windows and lanes
- Staff training on QR verification procedures
- Maintaining up-to-date school settings and schedules
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Smart Pickup are owned by Smart Pickup and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service.
10. Limitation of Liability
Smart Pickup provides a coordination tool and is not responsible for the physical safety of children during pickup. Schools and parents remain responsible for ensuring safe pickup practices. Smart Pickup is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
11. Termination
Your access to Smart Pickup is tied to your enrollment at a participating school. Access may be terminated by the school administrator at any time. Upon termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
